Situated in Wiltshire, just about halfway between Bristol and Oxford lies Swindon. The area is often referred to as where the Cotswolds meets the West Country and it is this convenient location that Swindon owes much of its popularity to. Its certainly easy to get to from the capital at only an hours train ride from Londons Paddington Station.
Swindon enjoys the benefits of modern living, with an increasingly busy social life thanks to its many varied bars and restaurants and numerous nightclubs. Whilst much of the town might not be anything special to look at, those that appreciate natural beauty such as quaint villages and woodland walks are just as well catered for with Swindons glorious surrounding countryside. In addition theres a good choice of scenic parks around Swindon itself, including the beautiful Coate Water Country Park with its impressive lake.
